Outreach Programs
Cole Harbour Woodside United Church is committed to the community and has a number of outreach programs: Prison Ministry Team - A group of about 10 people who lead and participate in worship services at the Halifax Correctional Centre on Monday evenings every six weeks or so. We prepare for each service during a potluck supper at the home of one of our group in an atmosphere of fun and friendship sprinkled with laughter. Leadership is shared. It is a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth while serving others and ourselves. Participants are required to attend a training session. Hope Cottage - A hot meal is provided to Hope Cottage approximately every 6 weeks. Feed Others of Dartmouth (F.O.O.D.) On the first Tuesday of every month a hot meal is provided for people who require this service in Dartmouth. Foster Child - The congregation supports a young boy from Ethiopia through the Christian Children's Fund of Canada, and the Sunday School keeps up correspondence with the foster child.
