Dining on a Budget in Dubai

Dining on a Budget in Dubai

Since Dubai is known for its glamour and extravagance many would not expect to be able to dine well while still maintaining a low budget. Even though some of the top restaurants might appear to be attractive it might be far above the pocket of the average tourists. Eating out and enjoying delicious food while remaining well below budget is what this post is all about.

One of the best recommended is the former Al Dhiyafah Road, now called 2nd of December with its location ideally off Jumeira Road in Satwa. This road is dedicate to local residents and tourists who look for good food but cheap cuisine. Locals and tourists will find eateries spilling out all along the road and even onto the pavement extending outside of the restaurants. Here you find cuisines from India, Iran, and Lebanon, Chinese and even Arabian food too.

Behind the Naif Mosque just off Deira Street is the Afghan Kebab House that opens daily at 11am until 1.00am. When you visit the Afghan Kebab House as a tourist you will know or experience the life of the Dubai people when you taste authentic Arabian food and Middle Eastern tastes. It is situated in one of the Deira alleys and here the best naan bread is served with fresh beef, lamb or chicken and heaps of fresh green leaves, cucumber, onion and tomatoes.

In Oud Metha is the Fish Basket with outstanding yet cheap Lebanese seafood. Even though you might not appreciate the décor and ambience you will definitely be able to look past it once you receive a generous portion of excellent seafood like shrimp, hammour and squid especially.

Inside the Mussalla Tower Mall in Bur Dubai you get the Curry Leaf that opens each morning at eight am until 11.30 pm. Here you have a range of cuisines to pick from including delicious deserts and puddings.
